Pretty WOW!
It’s been a hot minute since us ladies have been able to spend the day getting primped and pampered at the salon. Sure, you can attempt a basic mani-pedi at home but the results aren’t the same and you sure don’t feel as relaxed afterwards.

Pretty Wow is that one-stop-shop you’ve been dreaming of. Its doors have only been open since November 2019 but it’s certainly made a lasting impression on the Dubai beauty scene. The colourful décor, quirky design and chatty staff all lend itself to a friendly and bubbly atmosphere. There’s nothing intimidating about this bright, unique salon; it’s just like popping to your friend’s house for a pamper session and we are so here for that vibe. It’s located in JLT, cluster V with easy parking and a beautiful lake view. Convenient and stunning!
We couldn’t wait to let the girls loose on us and as soon as we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. Greeted with smiles and an immediate offer of a drink, Sophie the owner, got right to it with introducing us to our glam squad for the day. Sam (@hairbysamanthagreen) was to tend to our hair while Alex (@ghqdxb) geared up to tackle our nails.
We started with hair and kicked it all off with a glorious head massage. Then we plopped ourselves into the hot seat. Sam worked her magic at lightning speed and actually listened when we said the famous, ‘only a trim, please’. She was also full of advice and tips for our hair type and you could tell she was invested in what would make you look and feel great, which we absolutely loved!
Next up, nails. Alex had her work cut out for her with our mismatched talons and broken acrylics but she took one look and got straight to work without batting an eyelid. Usually, sitting for that long can be tedious, but with Alex the time flew by and we chatted about everything from home countries, to family and our favourite TV shows. She didn’t make us feel bad for umming and ahing over which colour to choose or which design to pick and she did a fantastic job of creating a poppin’ set of neon nails for us.
Overall, we left with a huge smile on our faces, fresh bouncy hair and fierce nails. Who wouldn’t be happy with that? We have to give a special mention to the salon’s playlist as well, because the music had us bopping our head and singing along under our breath the entire time we were there. It was feel good tunes all day long!
