Party planning can be stressful no matter the scale – having the individual elements come together and delivered on time is no mean feat. That’s why Miss Dubai has teamed up with Build Your Own Bash to help you plan the perfect party or event. Here, Louise from Bash Events answers your questions.

  • Location, location, location

The first thing you want to do is decide the “where” of the party. Where will the staging area be? If you are unsure, we can conduct a site visit to help you decide where everything can take place. From the initial surprise right through to where the cake will be presented, every detail is taken care of.

  • Scale

Is it to be a large affair with many attendees or something small and intimate? This all feeds in to your ‘staging area’ and how you dress this,

  • Say it with balloons

Balloons have always been the go to celebration accessory, however only over the past 6 years or so have balloons been seen as something chic.  From balloon arches to ceiling takeovers and scatter balloons, it’s hard to go wrong with a balloon installation of some kind.  Doorway arches and balloon walls add that extra little something and who doesn’t love their name spelled out in balloons?

  • Don’t be scared of a theme

It’s okay to take a theme and run with it! Pink’s your favourite colour? We can create something which fulfils all of your wildest pink dreams while remaining chic and elegant.  Complementing tones of pink in a matte finish can really elevate the look. We will moodboard it for you and give you ideas and things to consider that you might not have thought of.

  • Don’t do it alone!

Even if you have experience planning and executing a party, ask for help.  Whether that’s enlisting us to take care of every element of the day, from flowers to cake or simply asking a friend to help set up.  Doing it alone only exacerbates an already stressful situation.

  • Reconfirm with your suppliers

If your supplier hasn’t provided you with an exact time for delivering and a contact for the person delivering – make sure you have all of that prior to the event day.  An office number is useless out of hours and what if the social media manager doesn’t check DMs on weekends? Don’t leave yourself open for disappointment or added stress.

  • Choose quality suppliers

Though it may be tempting to go with the cheapest option, if it’s cheap as chips it’s usually for good reason.  Though you may see the difference in cost, you will also see the difference in quality.  Quality suppliers ensure they will always deliver a quality product and if something goes wrong  they will do everything they can to make it right.  Because they care about their reputation.

  • Save the stress – hire a cleaner

It might not seem like a big deal but if you dread the thought of a party because of the tidy up, hire a cleaning team before and after the event – to ensure the staging area is ready and then of course the aftermath.
