Thinking of moving to Dubai? Radio Presenter Jade Worsley gives some useful advice:

We interviewed Jade Worsley, Radio Presenter, DJ, voiceover artist and Podcast presenter of ‘Don’t Mention The C Word’ available on Spotify & Apple.

What made you want to move to Dubai and how long have you lived here?

I moved to Dubai in November 2017. I moved for the job on a radio station as the breakfast show presenter.

Any tips for girls wanting to find work?

Follow your passion – get experience in it. Do something you love and you never have to work a day in your life!

How did you find accommodation and do you have any recommendations for first time movers ?

I was moved into a hotel for a month from my company to give me time to find somewhere. I was lucky because there was a group of people who came to Dubai at the same time to start working at the same company. All new to the country we all looked for accommodation together. We chose apartments in JVC which were a great rate and we had our own studios next to each other so we had our privacy but still able to live near friends. I then moved to Marina/ JBR which I absolutely love. I’d recommend it if you like being close to all the action. I enjoyed JVC but I felt a little bit too far out. Now Marina prices aren’t too much more than JVC.

What’s your recommendations on best places to get your hair and make up done?

I love getting my hair done at N&J Beauty Salon by Samer in Studio 1 Hotel. Samer is a talented guy and I trust him with my hair! For make up – the coolest salon in Dubai is called Pretty WOW it’s owned by Sophie who hand picked an amazing team of talented make up artists who know what they’re doing!

Favorite Ladies Night brunch and Ladies Day?

Toro Toro ladies night is a lot of fun, 3 free drinks and great ambience.

Zero Gravity – Tuesday Ladies day

White beach & Drift beach are fun with gorgeous decor, surroundings and ambience.

What do you do when your not working and partying?

I love working out at my favourite kickboxing joint is 9Round. It’s 30 minute sessions, you can turn up at any time since the exercise starts every 3 minutes. They have trained professionals telling you what to do on all 9 stations. The music is pumping think Eminem remixed to a sick beat.

I find it hard to sit still and I love activities. Dubai is one of the best places to go wake boarding, flyboarding, dune bashing, quad biking, horse riding and BBQs in the dessert. There are loads of places to do it but I’d recommend Hydro-watersports.com (flyboarding) MX-Academy motocross, dune buggy – Infiniti Motorsports.

Any tips for ladies wanting to move to Dubai?

Dos and dont’s

Do make sure you have a job lined up before you get here – it’s difficult to move to a foreign country without a job I wouldn’t recommend coming here without one.

Don’t listen to trashy press spreading rumours and fake news about Dubai

DO visit Dubai before you decide to move to see if you actually like it.

Do enjoy yourself and all that Dubai has to offer – Don’t burn out! It’s easy to say yes to everything, I still find it hard to say no to socialising in this incredible social city. Make sure you look after yourself too.
