“Balance is Key out here as it’s easy to get carried away with the party scene” – Lauren Rose talks about music making and living in Dubai

What made you want to move to Dubai and how long have you lived here?

The Sun, the beach, the lifestyle, the Ladies day brunches and the gig opportunities for work!

What was you first job?

I have always been a singer/songwriter and performer since leaving school I have travelled the world singing at some amazing events and venues I started off singing for Hedkandi for 4 years which took me global! Then continued to gig around Europe and the Middle east. In between that I built my own mobile hair extension company @LR_Hairextensions 🙂

What do you do for work now?

I am a singer/ songwriter and collaborating with some major Labels and DJ/Producers in Lockdown recording from home. When lockdown is over I will be performing again in venues here:)

I also fit hair extensions out here and will be based doing this in @YinYangSalonDubai

I also do Life Coaching, Reiki Healing and Angel/Tarot Card Readings online & one to one to help ambitious individuals wanting to build there confidence and help them find their true potential.

Any tips for girls wanting to find work?

Just put yourself out there, be brave and bold, come here with a vision of what you want and go get it! My vision was to get gigs here at some amazing venues and still be able to do my Hair extensions & Life coaching so its all about networking and asking the people! Opportunity is everywhere you just need to look for it put yourself out there and be brave to ask! The same with the agency Bash Entrainment, I went on holiday to meet Chris Wright and just asked if he could get me gigs out here and I sent my showreel to one of the lovely ladies at Bash @Basheventsdubai and she loved it and wants to help me get work out here too!

How did you find accommodation and do you have any recommendations for first time movers?

I came on holiday for 2 weeks to visit a friend and ended up loving it! Luckily she had room in her apartment and I was able to move in. Its great as can pay on a month to month basis with no contract so can find your feet out here without the pressure.

What’s your recommendations on best places to get your hair and make up done?

I love YinYangs in JBR/Marina it has everything from make up, waxing, hair, nails, eyelashes and hair extensions (me) and is a beautiful Salon! @yinyangsalondubai

Favourite Ladies Night brunch and Ladies Day?

My favourite ladies day is 5 Palm on a Thursday great music and live sax the party really gets going and the food is amazing.

Breeze Grill Beach Club on a Friday brunch, its such a beautiful setting lovely food and great atmosphere!

What do you do when you’re not working?

Well singing at gigs for me doesn’t feel like work at all! I love to create a party vibe and spread the positive energy through the songs I sing and have a good time with everyone. On my down time I love to take long walks on the beach, Sunbathe, sunset dinners, meditate do Yoga and I also do Reiki Healing and Angel/Tarot card readings in my spare time for others too. It helps me have balance in my life

Any tips for ladies wanting to move to Dubai?

To have a plan and be ambitious to work out here. To make sure to have a balance with the party scene, work and downtime pleasures. Balance is Key out here as its easy to get carried away with the party scene as so much on!
