Last night saw us attend the 7* Novo Cinema at IBN Battuta Mall for the 1st screening within the UAE for DC Films ‘The Suicide Squad’, this experience from start to finish was something truly magical and most certainly the only way to watch a film at the Cinema from now on! We are going to keep this review entirely spoiler free.
Supervillains Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker and a collection of nutty cons at Belle Reve prison join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X as they are dropped off at the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Armed with high-tech weapons, they trek through the dangerous jungle on a search-and-destroy mission, with only Col. Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave.

This film is non-stop action, blood and wit from the get go with a surprising touch of belonging that gets you engulfed with the characters.
When you think Super Hero films you tend to think of heavily male dominant roles, and this surprisingly is not the case at all for The Suicide Squad! Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Cleo Cazo A.K.A Rat-Catcher (Daniela Melchior), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) & Sol Soria (Alice Braga) are all kick-as$ women who absolutely nailed their performances, Harley Quinn as per usual was just outstanding!
The Novo Cinemas 7* is something truly spectacular and something every film enthusiast needs to experience at least once in their film going life span!
We attended the Media Screening at the IBN Battuta Mall Branch which allowed for us to walk the Red Carpet at our own private entrance to the 7* Cinema (wow emoji) where we were ushered to the registration desk, greeted by the lovely ladies from Coco Communications and Warner Bros ME, handed our tickets and were able to select our meal options from the Specially Curated Food Menu. By the time we were ready to take our seats we were greeted with popcorn and a beverage as well as our food selection waiting for us at our seats! The seats, oh the seats, fully reclinable lazyboy styled seats fit for a Queen. Our only critique, it was so cold, but that being said in times pre-COVID you would usually receive a blanket and pillow, I would however dress warmly.
A massive thank you to the team at Speedy Comics once again for spoiling us with an incredible Goody Bag post film, it definitely kept the spirit alive.
We were interviewed after the film and one question stuck with us, who was your favorite character? Now we wont be revealing this here, but it is quite interesting because it is not one inwhich you would of expected.
